This is where I happen to be sticking my less than wonderful translations. I've wanted to put them somewhere for a while. So like a lemming, I'll stick them in a journal; easier than a website, which would definately not be worth the time to make considering that my translations are based from self taught talents on the japanese language.
Therefore when I have boredom, free time, or just the inspiration, expect translations to pop up here. Japanese rock lyrics, and interviews are my cup of tea.
♥ -Saiyo.
NOTES;!
&.01!
It's come to my attention, since I did a more public translation, I made an error of how some sentences were placed in structure. It changed the entire meaning of those sentences. So as I said, refer to above, I'm a student of the language. The thing I have the most trouble with is some sentence structure. If I misplace where a word goes, and you know it, PLEASE tell me! You'll help me correct this problem in my Japanese reading and writing and get better translations at the same time. :)
If I'm not sure about something, I'll put it in the translator's notes. As a whole, I'm confident that most of my translations do not predominately have this error and are as close to the meanings as possible without sounding bulky or not understandable for english speakers. But do not be shy.
&.02!
No two translators will sound exactly the same! If someone else has translated something and I have too, try not to immediately assume I'm wrong or they're wrong unless one of the translations blatantly contradicts the other one. If so, please ask each translator in question to please look over their translation. You don't want to go around thinking something that isn't true. And you'll be helping whichever translator made an error perfect their talents.
&.03!
If you like my translations, friend me so that you will see my updates(which on this journal, consists wholly of translations; or updates on them, be it corrections or pertaining to the translations in other ways.) Then, if you want to make a request, if I have time, I may translate it. I'm not always around though. So I may not have time, or concentration to do it. You can always ask though, it never hurts to ask.
&.04!
Correction is fine, flaming is not. You flame, you're banned. I don't need the negativity. If too many people flame, Konmei goes friends only. This isn't just for other's, a lot of it is for my own knowledge, and benifit. One rule of thumb here; Do unto others as you would have done unto you. Be mature, and kind, and I'll do the same for you. That's not too much to ask.
&.05!
You're welcome to use my translations, if you like them, anywhere you like, but be sure to credit me. I'm not arrogant by any means, and did not originally intend for this journal to even be known to anyone other than who found it by chance, and/or friends of mine. But seeing as how it is, you must credit me for my work. Professional translator's charge a fee, because it takes time and concentration. We here on the intarweb do our VERY best but aren't professional. I don't charge a fee, I do it because I want to know what the lyrics/interviews/whatever it is says. And because other people do too, and should have a right to know, even if they don't speak or are unable to read Japanese.
So in return, just stick the journal name under- around, over.. where-ever, the translation you're using.
If you're using it for graphics, you don't HAVE to. I don't care. Don't credit me if you're using it for artistic purposes. No one wants to have to add," Translated by konmei" as a footnote to making an icon or a layout in which you put the lyrics in it. That's ridiculous. BUT, if you're posting it somewhere like for a website's lyric section, on your journal, whatever. Credit me.
Even if you fail to credit me, DO NOT claim you translated it yourself. There is no flexibility on that.
Lastly, have fun browsing.
